Scan to PDF

Photograph a document and get a clean, straightened PDF you can search. Hold the page flat and get all four corners in the frame — we find the edges, remove the desk and the shadow, and read the text.

A photograph of a page is taken at an angle, on a desk, under whatever light the room has. We find the page in the frame, straighten the perspective, remove the shadow, and read the text — so what you get back looks scanned, not photographed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if it does not find the page?
The photograph is used whole, so you still get your document — it just will not be trimmed or straightened. It usually means the page filled the frame already, or the background was the same colour as the paper.
Does the text become searchable?
Yes, if you leave that option on. The text is placed invisibly behind the image, so the page looks exactly like your photograph but can be searched and copied from.
How many pages can I scan at once?
Up to 50 photographs in one PDF, in whatever order you arrange them.
Does this work on a desktop?
Yes. Take a photo opens your webcam on a laptop and the rear camera on a phone, with a live preview and a shutter button. You can also drag in photographs you have already taken.
Why does my browser ask for camera permission?
Because the page is opening your camera directly rather than handing you a file dialogue. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere until you press Capture and then Use.
