PDF to Excel
Pull tables out of a PDF into real spreadsheet cells, one worksheet per table.
Why pull tables out of a PDF?
Numbers in a PDF are pixels, so a totals row has to be retyped by hand. Extracting the table gives you real cells you can sort, filter and total without a single figure being retyped.
Tables extracted into real spreadsheet cells
One worksheet per table found in the document
Numbers, percentages and currency become numeric values
Header rows detected, so sorting and filtering work
Original cell alignment and merged cells honoured
The document needs tables — for prose, use PDF to Word

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work on a scanned PDF?
Run OCR on the scan first. Without a text layer there are no cell boundaries to detect, so the table would come out empty.
Are the numbers real numbers?
Yes. Recognised numeric values are stored as numbers, so SUM and sorting work rather than being string operations.
What about prose pages with no tables?
They produce nothing. This tool is for tabular data; for running text, PDF to Word is the right converter.
